Karen Crouse MSN, CNM,
LCCE Clinical
God’s grace of many life experiences and
contacts with many great individuals has led
me to where I am today. I knew that
Midwifery was the path for me after
countless connections I have made with women
and their families in preparation for birth
and during birth.
I
started my career in the field of nursing
after the birth of my second child. I
received an Associate Degree of Nursing in
1992, a BSN in 1996 from Carlow University,
a Master of Science in Nursing from the
University of Phoenix in 2004 and Midwifery
Certification from the Frontier School of
Midwifery and Family Nursing in 2008.
Since 1992 I have worked as a nurse in a
variety of settings and specialties which
includes: adult health, child health,
college nursing instructor in maternal child
health, and CPR instructor. I have gained
experience caring for low risk and high risk
pregnant women during my time as a Labor and
Delivery Nurse since 1995 in a variety of
settings. I am also a Lamaze Certified
Childbirth Educator who has educated many
women and men on the normalcy of birth and
of their options for the birth they desire.
I
am excited to start my career as a Midwife
with Birth Care and the people of this
community. My mission is to help women and
families explore their personal choices in
birth and to empower women to realize their
full potential as well as their own inherent
abilities through birth.
I
am married and have 2 grown children, a
daughter and a son. My husband of 29 years
will be joining me as we make a new start in
the Lancaster community
