Stacey Walter, RN
Registered Nurse

Stacey has 30+ years of obstetrical nursing experience within the hospital setting. After a brief period away from women's health, Stacey joined Birth Care in 2018, and feels blessed to be able to care for our clients. She has found her "dream job," and plans to work here until retirement. In her free time, Stacey enjoys spending time with her sons, Daniel and Douglas and his wife Claire, and she really enjoys loving on her grandsons, Leonardo and Archer!


Carolyn Kauffman, RN
​Registered Nurse

Carolyn Kauffman is an RN at Birthcare. She enjoys attending out-of-hospital births and checking in on mothers and babies after delivery.

Jessica Weicksel, LPN 
Licensed Practical Nurse

Jessica is a Lancaster County, PA native who has been serving mothers and babies at Birth Care since 2003. She has attended more than 700 births! Jessica lives on a farm, raises Scottish Highland cattle, and is renowned as a fantastic cook.

Laura Haselbarth, RN
Registered Nurse​

Laura is from Lancaster County and has been a nurse for 20 years. With her husband, Jared, Laura has seven children, four of whom she delivered at Birth Care. “My personal birthing experience is what made me want to work here.”  In her free time, she enjoys gardening, spending time with her family, coaching basketball, and reading.​

Diane Wenger, RN
​Registered Nurse

Diane is a nurse at Birth Care who enjoys helping women achieve fulfilling births. She has been with Birth Care for many years. She has four children whom she home schools.​

Paula Shanks, RN
​Registered Nurse

Paula brings decades of experience to Birth Care, which includes years of working on the labor and delivery unit at Women and Babies Hospital.  She was raised in Connecticut, and spent many happy years raising dairy cows.

​Catherine came to the birth center when expecting her second child more than a quarter century ago, and she never left! She worked her way up from bookkeeper,  childbirth educator and birthing assistant to become the director of nursing. She delivered two of her children at the birth center, and her daughter completed the circle by also delivering at Birth Care.

Melissa “Missy” Raub, LPN
Licensed Practical Nurse - Office​

​Missy is a familiar face for many in our community. She has been our office nurse for more than 10 years! “I love my patients, it’s what keeps me here.” She has taught more than 300 childbirth classes in the past. She enjoys spending time with family, friends, and her three dogs. In her free time, she enjoys camping, hiking, and gardening.

Melinda Landis

Melinda joined Birth Care in 2018. She greatly enjoys working with our patients. She lives on a farm near Strasburg with her husband and four children, and enjoys hiking, biking, spending time with friends and working in her yard.

Robin Kuhl

Front Desk Receptionist

Robin first became part of the Birth Care family when she delivered her two youngest babies here in 2006 and 2009. She has worked at Birth Care since 2020. Robin has been an EMT since 2000 and for many years worked on the local ambulance. She is also in nursing school and will graduate end of 2025. She can't wait to start working on the labor and delivery side of the practice. When not at work or school, Robin loves to be with her family. She is married with 4 children and a granddaughter. She homeschools two of her children.

Ruby joined Birth Care in 2023. She is happily married for more than 40 years and they have 3 children and 6 grandchildren (all girls!). Ruby enjoys vacationing with friends and family.

​Amber has a background in banking and bookkeeping and she takes pride in keeping operations organized and running efficiently. Amber is naturally outgoing and enjoy building meaningful connections, especially when it comes to supporting and strengthening her community. As a mother of two boys, she is driven by a strong work ethic, compassion, and a commitment to helping others.
A lifelong resident of southern Lancaster County, she values the relationships and sense of community that have shaped who she is today. She joined Birth Care to further connect with those around her and to offer a helping hand wherever it’s needed, contributing to a mission that supports and uplifts others.

Nichole Brown

Nichole joined Birth Care in December 2025. Nichole is a mom of 2, a 10 year old son and a 2 year old daughter. Nichole loves the outdoors and taking her kids on all types of "adventures." If you do not see Nichole at the Birth Center, she is with her kids on one of their numerous activities most likely taking a billion pictures.
